Diane Daugherty Brent, age 72 of Bloomington IL passed away at 4:46 PM on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal IL. Diane will be laid to rest next to her mother Dorothy Daugherty. A private family graveside service will be Thursday (December 1, 2016) at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois. Arrangements are being handled by Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.

Diane was born March 28, 1944 in Bloomington, IL the daughter of Earl F. and Dorothy Woodward Daugherty.

Surviving are her 3 children, Mark (Patti) Brent, Bloomington, IL, Laura (John) Wright, Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth “Beth” Brent, Bloomington IL,6 Grandchildren, William and Robert Brent, Bloomington, IL, Julia, Joanna, Faith and Elle Wright,Atlanta,Georgia, 1 sister, Victoria (Rick) Kasper, Wheaton, IL, 2 brothers, David Daugherty, Bloomington, IL and Dyke (Sheryl) Daugherty, Bloomington, IL

Diane is preceded in death by her parents.

Diane graduated from Bloomington High School and received a degree from Illinois State University in Education. She taught elementary school in Joliet, IL. Diane loved birds, flowers, sea shells, owls, nature and history. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Diane loved her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
